Eric Larose, Ludovic Margerin, Arnaud Derode, Bart van Tiggelen, Michel Campillo, Nikolai Shapiro, Anne Paul, Laurent Stehly, and Mickael Tanter received 2006 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Correlation of random wavefields: An interdisciplinary review.
Biography 2006
Mickael Tanter, Ph.D., received a diplôme d’ingénieur (1994) from École Supérieure d’Electricité and an M.Sc. (1994) in physics and acoustics from the University of Paris VII: Denis Diderot, France, where he also received a Ph.D. (1999) in applied physics. In 2000, he became a permanent research scientist of the National Council for Scientific Research and worked for the Laboratory of Waves and Acoustics in Paris at the École Supérieure de Physique et Chimie Industrielles (ESPCI), Paris. Since 2005, Tanter has been research director at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherché Médicale. He is also head of the ultrasound medical applications team at the Laboratory of Waves and Acoustics, ESPCI, Paris. Tanter’s research interests are in developing ultrasonic imaging and therapy techniques, ultrasonic therapy and imaging of the brain, elasticity imaging of organs using ultrafast scanners, and compact lithotriptors. He has received seven patents in ultrasound imaging and is the author of more than 50 technical papers. Tanter is cofounder of SuperSonic Imagine, re- searching ultrasonic medical imaging.
