The primary goal of the SEG Wiki is to supply scientific materials to the geoscience community and the public through
- Biographies – capturing the history and development of exploration geophysics, these biographies document the contributions of key geoscientists, including
- founding members of SEG;
- honors and awards winners;
- SEG Distinguished, Honorary, Near Surface, DISC, and Global Sustainability lecturers;
- SEG Presidents; and
- women in geoscience.
- Books – classic references provided free online including
- Seismic Data Analysis;
- Encyclopedic Dictionary of Applied Geophysics (with translations in Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, and Russian);
- Problems in Exploration Seismology and their Solutions; and
- Digital Imaging and Deconvolution: The ABCs of Seismic Exploration and Processing.
- Knowledge tree – a gateway to a collection of scientific, mathematical, geophysical, and geologic information for students and professionals.
- Open data – geophysical data that is readily available for download from the internet, via mail, or through special request.
- Software – presenting a collection of source codes that accompany articles in the journal of GEOPHYSICS.
- Tutorial series – presenting a brief exploration into a geophysical topic of interest, these tutorials have been published in The Leading Edge.
