Vladimir Druskin graduated (1979) from Moscow Oil and Gas Institute and received a Ph.D. (1984) in physical and mathematical sciences from Moscow State University. From 1979 to 1991, he was with Central Geophysical Expediation, Moscow. In 1991, he joined Schlumberger-Doll Research. Druskin's many publications range over numerical linear algebra, numerical methods for PDE with applications to geophysics, and the theory of inverse problems.
Sofia Davydycheva, Vladimir L. Druskin, and Tarek Habashy received 2003 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper An efficient finite-difference scheme for electromagnetic logging in 3D anisotropic inhomogeneous media.
