Virginia McNamee Pendleton is geophysicist and founder of Integrity Geophysics.

Education and Career

Pendleton received a BA (1980) in earth science from Principia College, an MA (1990) in energy and environmental science from Boston University, and has done graduate work in geology and geophysics at the University of Texas at Austin and the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics, University of California.[1][2]

She was employed for eight years as a geophysicist with Occidental Petroleum/Cities Service Oil and Gas Corporation in Houston, working in domestic offshore exploration. In 1988 she moved to Boston, where she served as a consulting geophysicist on the Boston Harbor project. She returned to Texas in 1991 and joined the Bureau of Economic Geology working on reservoir characterization from 3-D seismic data. In 1993 she founded Integrity Geophysics, a geophysical consulting firm. She is a member of SEG, AAPG, San Antonio Geophysical Society, and Austin Geological Society.

Awards

In 1996, Bob A. Hardage, David L. Carr, David E. Lancaster, James L. Simmons Jr., Robert Y. Elphick, Virginia M. Pendleton, and Ronald A. Johns received Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper, 3-D seismic evidence of the effects of carbonate karst collapse on overlying clastic stratigraphy and reservoir compartmentalization.[3]
