Bojonegoro is the city that receives the largest natural resource revenue-sharing from Indonesia in 2018. All areas in Bojonegoro have become oil and gas exploration and exploitation areas. In fact, it is estimated that 25 percent of Indonesia's exact oil reserves are currently in the area of Bojonegoro. There are at least 4 (four) blocks and several oil and gas fields, namely: Cepu Block; Banyu Urip and Kedung Keris Field, Tuban Block; Sukowati Field, Cepu Block Jambaran-Tiung Biru Field, and Blora Block. For information, Banyu Urip oil field located in the Cepu Block working area with 450 million barrels of oil reserves capable of producing up to 200 thousand barrels of oil per day managed by PT. ExxonMobil Cepu. Therefore, we would like to make a visit to PT. ExxonMobil Cepu to know how oil and gas produced, especially in Cepu.
BLOOD DONATION IN COLLABORATION WITH YOGYAKARTA RED CROSS
Blood donation is one of the most significant contribution that a person can make towards the society. It is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood. The body of the donor can regenerate the blood within few days. It poses no threat to the metabolism of the body. An ailing body needs blood for various reasons. He may be attacked with anemia, undergone an operation or may meet with an accident. But such a patient may die for want of blood as it is not always available. Even a pregnant mother may need blood in case of emergency situation.
The patient needs blood or his or her group of blood whenever necessary. It is another important thing. Blood has four groups namely, A. B, AB and O. The required group must be the same while transplanting otherwise the transplantation will go in vain and even the patient may die. The man with the O-group blood is called the universal donor as the people having others can accept it. On the contrary, the man with AB group of blood is called the universal receiver as he can accept all groups of blood. Our blood banks are running short of required blood. By organizing such blood donation camps SEG UPN SC in collaboration with Yogyakarta Red Cross may help them to enrich their capacity. Blood donation is our human duty. So we must come forward to donate blood as it can make sure the return of a dying man again into the light of life
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our student chapters have difficulties in carrying out geoscience seminars, but this is not a big challenge for us, with a sincere intention to share knowledge with geoscience friends we managed to find a way to be able to conduct online seminars via online webinar.
SEG UPN SC has successfully conducted 8 webinar series including; webinars on seismics, then webinars on oil and gas geology, ore deposits, geothermal, underground mining, webinars on job interviews, hydrogeology in mining sector, and webinars on land of geoscience competition. Through this event, we invited the expertise speaker to share their knowledge and experience about the world of work. It is hoped that this program can open insight for each participant who participates.
SEISMIK (SOCIALIZATION AND SIMULATION OF EARTHQUAKE)
A natural disaster is one of the phenomena that can occur at any time and may causes risk or danger towards human life. Natural disasters are dangerous, it could causes a loss of wealth, a loss of objects or even human life. Indonesia is inseparable from the occurrence of natural disasters, one of them are earthquake. Earthquake is the shaking of the surface of the Earth, resulting from the sudden release of energy in the Earth’s lithosphere that creates seismic waves. The magnitude of the earthquake can varies. The size of an earthquake depends on the size of the fault, the amount of slip on the fault, and its source. There are lots of loss and victims caused by large-scale earthquake. One of the point that increase the causes of many victims due to this disasters is the lack of knowledge about the disaster and how people are poorly prepared in anticipation within the disaster.
Overall, it could be noted that the knowledge about natural disasters early on is very important to do. SEG UPN SC In Collaboration with TAGANA YOGYAKARTA was held the event called SEISMIK in Wedomartani Village, SEISMIK (SEG Socialization and Simulation of Earthquake) activity is done by giving an introduction about natural disasters, signs of impending natural disasters and the steps that must be taken when a natural disaster threat occurs in the form of volcanoes, earthquakes, and landslides. Through these activities, children are expected to understand and be able to do the anticipation of when natural disasters happen so that one day, losses caused by natural disasters can be reduced
VIRTUAL COMPETITION : LAND OF GEOSCIENCE 2020
Indonesia as one of the resource-rich countries, continues to strive in the implementation of sustainable development as an implementation of the United Nation agenda in the form of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In Indonesia itself, to meet energy needs, is still dominated by dependence on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. Given the current volatile oil and gas industry conditions, and increasing needs, more efforts are needed to realize energy stability in Indonesia. In the future competition of the younger generation is required to improve its quality, one of which is also on the role of geoscience. The role of geoscience in preparing for a sustainable future is very important, especially in Indonesia itself which is very rich in resources. In addition, the role of geoscience not only in energy but also in the field of geotechnical and disaster mitigation is a growing field today in Indonesia. What is needed for the adaptation of the development of the field, one of which is the understanding of methods and applications of good earth sciences. Not only the theory, the application is also very important mastered.
In order to improve the ability of young geoscience in facing these challenges and conditions, the Students Association of Geophysical Engineering and Society of Exploration Geophysicist Student Chapter UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta in collaboration with student council of geophysical engineering HMTGF UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta wants to contribute in helping earthscience students in Indonesia through Land of Geoscience (LOG) 2020. LOG 2020 is a series of activities containing earth competitions with the theme "Geoscience for Sustainable Futures". Land of Geoscience 2020 activities are carried out with a digital-based that intends to continue to drive and raise awareness of young geoscience to contribute to sustainable development. With this series of activities, we hope to bring together students and professional practitioners, so as to improve the quality of students and introduce geology to prospective students.
