This talk addresses the work carried out in the department of Angaco, a populated area north of the Tulum Valley, province of San Juan, Argentina. This work consists of a geophysical study in two west-east transects, from the valley to the foothills of the Pie de Palo mountain range, where it was possible to observe the geophysical responses to determine tectonic structures and establish their relationship with the units

geomorphological and superficial Quaternary deposits. For this, tools and principles of geophysical methods were used: gravimetry and magnetism.

08/09/21 Monitoreo volcánico: sismicidad y otras técnicas geofísicas aplicadas a volcanes Seismicity is perhaps the quintessential volcanic monitoring technique for short-term forecasting, as well as for estimating the base activity of the volcanic system. Through the different types of volcanic seismicity it is possible to understand the state of activity of the volcano; and through seismology it is possible to show magma advances in non-visible structures, as well as to estimate the location of possible magma reservoirs. Volcano deformation is also used as a monitoring measure associated with periods of volcano inflation/deflation before or after an eruption. The need to observe some volcanoes in remote areas, such as the Aleutian (USA) and Kuril (Russia) arcs, has led to the use of remote sensing techniques such as InSAR for these same purposes. In addition, a variety of electrical and electromagnetic methods have been used for subsurface studies, both for estimates of geothermal potential and for monitoring the structures themselves. On the surface, the monitoring of degassing, thermal radiance, and infrasound signals allow the study of other characteristics of volcanic activity both on the ground and at a distance. Together with seismicity and other geophysical and remote sensing techniques, it is possible to build a monitoring system that considers the different variables that the volcano shows, its different states, and thus improve early warning of eruptions and associated dangers. 15/09/21 Estudio de litofacies y organofacies en una secuencia del cretáceo de la cuenca oriental de Venezuela The Upper Cretaceous San Antonio Formation is characterized by a sequence of limestones, marly limestones, marls, shales, and sandstones. This talk will address a detailed study in the type section of the San Antonio Formation (300 m) to determine the variation of geochemical parameters as indicators of lithofacies and organic facies derived from the contribution of organic matter and types of sediments in the basin. The potential for hydrocarbon generation in the section is estimated based on the quantity, type and maturity of the kerogen. This sequence was deposited under suboxic to anoxic conditions, characterized by kerogen type II. Limestones, marly limestones, marls and shales have been considered as a secondary source rock in the Eastern Basin of Venezuela. This section presents differences in terms of the potential for hydrocarbon generation, related to the lithofacies and the organic facies. Additionally, sandstones act as accumulation zones for hydrocarbons generated and expelled from limestone, marly limestone, marl and shale. PhD. 22/09/21 Interrelación entre la geología y la geofísica: Aplicaciones prácticas The physical skeleton of planet Earth is made up of minerals and rocks. Geology is the science that studies and analyzes these materials, as well as their structure, properties, processes, events and history of the petrogenetic and metallogenetic processes that led to their formation. Geophysics studies the behavior of the Earth as a physical entity, so all geophysical methods require detailed geological support for proper interpretation. This presentation highlights the importance of coordinated and harmonious work between the two disciplines through examples of activities common to both: the exploration and evaluation of unconventional hydrocarbon deposits linked to igneous rocks and the prospecting of metal deposits. 29/09/21 Geodinámica Argentina PRE Y POST Terremoto de 6.4 con epicentro en la provincia de San Juan Spatial geodetic techniques (VLBI, SLR, GNSS and DORIS) have multiple scientific applications, one of the most important is to obtain with very good precision the coordinates of the points where they are located, which allows determining and monitoring space-time variations due to deformations of the earth's crust.

At 11:46:21 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021, about 40 km southwest of the city of San Juan, a very shallow and destructive earthquake occurred with an epicenter in the Precordillera Sanjuanina and with a magnitude of Mw= 6.46. In the following 72 hours after the main event, more than 150 aftershocks of magnitudes between 2.5 and 5.3 were recorded. The main objective of this work is to carry out an analysis of the coordinates of fixed points (GNSS Permanent Stations belonging to RAMSAC) used in the materialization of reference systems at a global and regional level, in order to relate the possible changes with seismic agents and tectonics

07/12/21 Anelipticidad en anisotropía elástica. Estimación a escalas de pozo y laboratorio e implicancias en la estimación de modelos geomecánicos This presentation discusses the use of statistical methods in the estimation of anisotropic parameters, focusing on the use of Bayesian methods, then analyzing the implications in the design and

numerical modeling of hydraulic fractures. It is briefly shown that the probabilistic analysis from wave measurements and pre-existing data allows a rapid estimation of the

anisotropic parameters and their uncertainty. In addition, it is shown how this uncertainty in the anisotropic parameters leads to overestimation or underestimation in the calculation of stress barriers and errors in the estimation of hydraulic fracture geometry.

PhD. Gallardo Giazza, Gabriel -
15/12/21 Rol del geofísico en la industria petrolera This presentation addresses the role of the geophysicist in the oil industry, focusing mainly on seismic and microseismic methods, since significant contributions can be made from seismic interpretation and characterization, the latter mainly in unconventional reservoirs. The main areas in which a geophysical professional can develop within the industry are summarized, what are the contributions in each area and the impact of the same in a project in development.
