Biography 2005
Ivan Psencík graduated from Charles University, Prague, in 1968. He received a Ph.D. (1974) from the Geophysical Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, where he has worked since 1970. Psencík is editor in chief of Studia Geophysica et Geodaetica. His research interests are in high-frequency asymptotic methods, such as the ray method and its modifications, and their applications to seismic wave propagation in laterally heterogeneous isotropic and anisotropic structures.
