{{#category_index:R|resistivity}} The property of a material that resists the flow of electrical current. Also called specific resistance. The ratio of electric-field intensity to current density. The reciprocal of resistivity is conductivity. Resistivity is a tensor in nonisotropic material, the inverse of the conductivity tensor. See ohm-meter and apparent resistivity.
