1. A reflection shooting arrangement in which the source point is appreciably outside the line of the spread (more than perhaps 60 m or 200 ft). Also called L-spread or T-spread, depending on whether the source is opposite one end or the center of the spread. See Figure S-18. 2. A refraction technique in which the spread is perpendicular to the line connecting it with the source. The source-to-spread distance is usually kept nearly constant. 3. Electromagnetic-surveying procedure in which the transmitter coil is moved along one line while the receiver coil is moved along a parallel line. Compare inline.
