{{#category_index:A|anisotropy (geostatistical)}} The situation where covariance models (q.v.) at different azimuths have different ranges; this is geometric anisotropy, e.g., correlation may be better in the strike than in the dip direction. In zonal anisotropy, ranges may be the same but the sills different. See variogram and Figure V-1.
