Dictionary:Acknowledgments

I greatly appreciate the help that many people have given me in efforts to make this work useful. I have tried to keep a record of those who helped but undoubtedly I have missed some and I apologize to them. I have borrowed many potential-field definitions from IGC (1996) and Goussev and Peirce (1999). I especially wish to acknowledge the huge contributions by Dan Ebrom and Bob Bruce and my colleagues at the University of Houston. And I again thank my wife, Margaret, for her advice and support.

I have merged the names of contributors with those of the preceding editions on which this edition is built. A number of the names are repeats and I very much appreciate their continuing help. A number of the names are also of those who are no longer with us and we are thus reminded of how much we owe them for their contributions to geophysics.
