Council Medal

The Council Medal, established in November 2012, shall be awarded from time to time to a person or persons deserving of special recognition through having rendered exceptional meritorious service to the Council.

  • The Council Medal may only be bestowed by the Council and, when awarded, shall be presented at the Annual SEG Council Meeting.
  • The medal does not need to be awarded each year. In fact, the medal will have more prestige if it is awarded only when truly deserved.
  • The Council Chair will name a committee of 5-7 Council members each year to consider candidates for the medal. If the committee selects an awardee, the recommendation will be forwarded to the Council Chair and Vice Chair for final approval.
  • The nominations and selection process for naming a Council Medal awardee shall be scheduled each year so that awardee information is coordinated in time to be presented at the Annual Council Meeting.
  • Current and past Council members are eligible to be nominated for consideration of the Council Medal.
