Overview
The Committee on Nominations identifies and nominates Active Members of the Society in good standing willing to serve on the SEG Board of Directors and to fill District Representative vacancies.
Objectives
The Committee selects candidates for President-Elect, Directors, and vacant District Representative posts, ensuring nominees have the time, skills, and willingness to serve. Candidate selection shall strive to reflect the diversity of the Society in terms of career stage, global location, geoscience specialty, technical expertise, professional skills, and other perspectives relevant to advancing SEG’s mission.
Composition and Membership
The Committee consists of two Directors at Large serving two years (first year as member, second year as Chair, which is the last year of their Director term), the three most recent Past Presidents, the Chair of the Council, and four Active Members representing different Sections, Associated Societies, Technical Sections, or Geographic Districts.
