Andrey Bakulin, Alexander Sidorov, Boris Kashtan, and Mikko Jaaskelainen received 2008 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Real-time completion monitoring with acoustic waves.[1]
2008 Biography[2]
Boris Kashtan received a Ph.D. (1981) and doctor of science degree (1987) in geophysics from Saint Petersburg State University in Russia, where he was a professor of geophysics and head of the Laboratory of Dynamic Elastic Media in the Institute of Physics. He was a leading expert in advanced problems of seismic wave propagation in anisotropic and complex media and one of the leaders of the Saint Petersburg Shell Cluster, which performed advanced geophysical studies for Shell.
