Here, we describe a practical scheme [1] > [2] which involves the design of a stable 2-D extrapolation filter, use of the McClellan transform to obtain a 3-D extrapolation operator without actually computing a 3-D operator, and replacing convolution for filter application by an efficient recursive scheme based on Chebychev polynomials.
