Here, the real part of the analytic trace ${\mbox{Re }}s(t)$, is just the original seismic trace $f(t)$. The imaginary part ${\mbox{Im }}s(t)$, also called the quadrature trace, is computed by taking the Hilbert transform of ${\mbox{Re }}s(t)$.
