{{#category_index:M|maximum convexity}} The curvature on a seismic record section of a diffraction from a point in the plane of the section. This is the greatest convexity a primary coherent wavetrain can have except for reverse branches (in buried-focus situations), diffracted reflections, and certain other events involving complex raypaths. See diffraction curve.
