{{#category_index:L|linear-phase filter}} A mixed-phase filter that time-shifts frequency components proportional to their frequency, thus introducing a constant delay but no change of waveshape. The phase-shift versus frequency graph is linear over the band-pass and has an intercept that is a multiple of 2π. Also called a delay filter. If the intercept is an odd multiple of π it will invert the wavelet. See Figure P-1 and phase characteristics.
