(bā’ ō wulf,) A cluster (q.v.) of small computers or computer chips that make a massive parallel processor (MPP). Often uses the Linux (q.v.) operating system and standard message-passing protocols. Named for the Old English or Nordic character who freed the Danes from the monster Grendel because it frees a user from the cost of a MPP.
