Thomas Nye received his BS degree from Southern Illinois University in civil engineering and geology in 1987. He then went to the University of Miami where he received a PhD for applied marine physics in 1992. He is currently working as a postdoctorate for the University of Miami's Geo-acoustic Laboratory. His interests include acoustic tomography and sediment transport modeling.
