Sokolov distance=horizontal distance between intersections of maximum-slope line with the regional and with the line parallel to the regional through the maximum. Peters distance=horizontal distance between half the maximum slope points. Maximum-slope distance=horizontal distance over which the curve is approximately a straight line with the maximum slope. Hannel distance=horizontal distance between points having the maximum amplitude and 1/3 of that amplitude. Half-width distance=horizontal distance between points having the maximum amplitude and 1/2 of that amplitude [sometimes half width (q.v.) is defined differently].
