SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award 1976

Ralph A. Wiggins, Ken Larner, and Robert D. Wisecup received the 1977 SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award for their paper Residual static analysis as a general linear inverse problem.[1]


Biography 1976[2]

Ralph A. Wiggins received the degree of geophysical engineer of Colorado School of Mines in 1961 and a Ph.D. from M.I.T. from 1966 to 1970, and an assistant professor at the University to Toronto from 1970 to 1973. From 1973 to 1975 he was an associate professor of geophysics at the University of British Columbia. In 1975 he joined Western Geophysical Co. as a research geophysicist. His special interests are inversion theory, time series analysis and wave propagation. Dr. Wiggins is a member of SEG, AGU, CGU, EAEG, GSA, RAS, and SSA.
