Peter Stummer received an M.Sc. (1997) in applied geophysics from the Mining University, Leoben, Austria, and a Ph.D. (2003) in geophysics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland. After graduting from the Mining University, he worked as a processing geophysicist with CGG, London seismic data processing center. His research interests focus on development of new data acquisition equipment for electrical resistivity methods and optimization of acquisition strategies.
