Parker Gay
S. Parker Gay Jr. received the 1963 SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award for his paper Standard curves for interpretation of magnetic anomalies over long tabular bodies.[1]
Biography 1963 [2]
S. Parker Gay, Jr., received his B.S. degree in Geology-Geophysics from MIT in 1952 and an M.S. in Geophysics from Stanford in 1961. From 1952 to 1955, he served as a photo-interpreter in the U.S. Air Force, and following his release was employed as a geologis in the search for uranium in the Southwest. Since 1956, he has carried out geophysical surveys for mineral deposits and groundwater: 1956-57 in Utah and Alaska with Utah Construction Company, 1957-60 in Peru with Marcona Mining Company, and 1961 to the present as an independent geophysical contractor in Lima, Peru, specializing in exploration surveys in South America.
