Glenn S. Sasagawa, Wayne C. Crawford, Ola Eiken, Scott Nooner, Torkjell Stenvold, and Mark A. Zumberge received the 2003 SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award for their paper A new sea-floor gravimiter. [1]

Biography 2003

Ola Eiken received a graduate degree (1981) and a PhD (1990) in geophysics from the University of Bergen, Norway. he worked with seismic exploration in arctic Norway as a researcher for the University of Bergen. From 1998 to 1990 he had a visiting scholarship at Bundesanstalt fur Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe in Hanover, Germany.[2] From 1991 to 2013 he was employed by Statoil, where he held various exploration, operation and production positions before working more than a decade on geophysical reservoir monitoring at the research center in Trondheim. Since 2014 he has been CEO of Quad Geometrics Norway. He is a member of SEG, EAGE, AGU, SPE and NGF.
