P. R. Williams and M. H. Worthington received 1993 [[Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Resolution limits in ray tomography due to wave behavior: Numerical experiments.[1]

Biography 1992 [2]

Michael H. Worthington received a B.Sc. in applied physics in 1968, an M.Sc. in geophysics, both from Durham University in 1969, and a Ph.D. from the Australian National University in 1973. From then until 1984, he was a lecturer in geophysics at Oxford University and a fellow of Exeter College. He is currently professor of geophysics at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London University. In 1978, he was a visiting professor at Cornell University. His principle research interests include exploration seismology, with particular interest in borehole seismic methods.
