R. H. Tatham, M. D. Matthews, K. K. Sekharan, C. J. Wade, and L. M. Liro received 1992 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper A physical model study of shear-wave splitting and fracture intensity, [1]
Biography 1992 [2]
Martin D. Matthews received a B.S. from Allegheny College (1960), an M.S. from West Virginia University (1963), and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (1973) all in geology. He was an assistant professor of geology at Washington State University (1972-1974) and director of geological research, manager of geochemical research, manager of geochemical research, and coordinator fracture research at Gulf R&D (1974-1983). From 1979 to 1981 he was on loan to Gulf Oil E&P headquarters as senior staff geologist. He is currently a senior scientist for Texaco E&P Technology. His research interests include fractures, fluid flow, diagenesis, hydrocarbon migration/microseepage, and predictive sedimentology. He is a member of AAPG, GSA, SEPM, IAS, and AGI.
