Biography

Karuthethil K. Sekharan received an M.S. degree in physics from Bombay University and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Kentucky. He has worked for the Bhabha Atomic Research Center, the University of Kentucky, Texas A&M University, and Selma University. Since 1980, he has been with the University of Houston, where he is a senior research scientist at Allied Geophysical Laboratories. He is involved in physical modeling of geological structures and is interested in processing and interpretation of seismic data. He is a member of SEG.[1]

Honorable Mention (Geophysics) 1992

R. H. Tatham, M. D. Matthews, K. K. Sekharan, C. J. Wade, and L. M. Liro received the 1992 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper A physical model study of shear-wave splitting and fracture intensity.[2]
