Biography 2001[1]
John A. Quirein received a PhD (1973) in mathematics from the University of Houston. He has worked for Schlumberger and Mobil. He is currently a senior technical advisor for Haliburton Energy Services in the reservoir applications department. His research interests include well log statistical based interpretation, neural networks, seismic attributes, and seismic assisted reservoir characterization.

Daniel P. Hampson, James S. Schuelke, and John A. Quirein received 2001 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Use of multiattribute transforms to predict log properties from seismic data.[2]
