Jeffrey S. Ogilvie and Guy W. Purnell received the 1996 SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award for their paper Effects of salt-related mode conversions on subsalt prospecting.[1]


Biography 1996[2]

Guy W. Purnell completed his PhD (1990) at the University of Houston. Since 1983 he has been a member of the geophysical research team at the Texaco Exploration and Production Technology Department in Houston. His current research interests include difficult-data areas, seismic modeling, and prestack depth migration applications. He is a member of SEG and EAEG.
