Company Profile

Success over the life of your reservoir is directly linked to the quality of your seismic data. It insulates you from risk and informs every decision you make. Nodal seismic, with its superior image and cost-effective implementation, can mean the difference between a dry hole and an economically viable operation. And it’s our specialty.

For more than 30 years, FairfieldNodal has innovated, acquired, processed, and licensed seismic technology. We are the acknowledged leader in ocean bottom seismic* (OBS)—developing, manufacturing, and deploying exclusive, nodal data-acquisition systems. From exploration through reservoir enhancement, they give our global customers the power to make smarter, safer, and more profitable decisions, extending the productive life of their reservoirs.

FairfieldNodal technology dramatically simplifies the logistics of deployment and data acquisition. Our autonomous and reliable seismic acquisition systems have helped explorationists and asset teams worldwide contend with environmentally challenging marine and onshore environments—at a significantly lower total cost of ownership.

With this proprietary technology, we have also built and licensed a vast, multi-client library of data for the Gulf of Mexico and the Permian Basin, further helping our customers overcome economic challenges.

More than ever, economic viability demands better answers. Better answers demand a superior image. That’s what we do.

  • Welling & Company survey, 2014

Mastering the art of the image for more than 30 years.

With a good baseline survey, you can effectively gauge progress and make accurate predictions on what’s next. As a company, FairfieldNodal laid a strong baseline more than 30 years ago, committing itself to delivering a superior image while overcoming prevalent operational challenges.

Beginning with our Telseis® system design, we set the standard in transition-zone seismic data collection. As our recording systems evolved, we refined processing and computer technology to produce a uniquely FairfieldNodal product known as ZTechnology®, the result of which was our Gulf of Mexico Shelf 3D multi-client library, the industry’s premier database.

We pioneered and today lead the industry in nodal technology, providing acquisition tools, processing services, licensing solutions, and expertise to meet today’s seismic challenges with speed, accuracy and efficiency.

Arming our customers with insightful clarity so that they can successfully manage their reservoirs over the life of field—it’s where we’ve been. It’s where we’re going.
