Fabian Kannenstine
Fabian Miller Kannenstine (1891-1971) served as the 1938-1939 SEG President.
Mr. Kannestine served as Editor of ''Geophysics'' in the years 1935-1936 and 1936-1937.[1]

Member of the Optical Society for 46 years, Dr. Fabian M. Kannenstine died recently in Houston, Texas. He received the B.S. from Washington University in Saint Louis and the Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago. He was director of research of the Geophysical Research Corporation, vice president in charge of research of Rosaire & Kannenstine, and proprietor of Kannenstine Laboratories. He was a Fellow of the American Physical Society and editor and president of the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists. He was a member of the Geophysical Union and of the Institute of Radio and Electronic Engineers. His research specialty was the life of metastable helium.
