{{#category_index:W|wrap around}} 1. Aliasing in the f-k domain (q.v.). Wrap-around can be prevented by padding (q.v.) with zeroes. See also Figure F-11b. 2. The effect produced when a digital memory element (usually a register) is incremented (decremented) past its maximum (minimum) value. For example, a 4-bit register can contain any value from 0 to 15. When it contains 15, incrementing it results in a value of zero.
