(vek’ tō gr∂m) A scheme in telluric surveying in which x-y rather than strip-chart recorders are used. The technique yields more accurate results and is faster than triangle or ellipse methods. Exact time-ties are not required to establish simultaneity of electrical vector observations at the station and base. See Yungul (1968).
