{{#category_index:R|rotating dipole}} A rotating dipole source consists of two fixed dipoles, either magnetic or grounded electric current dipoles, oriented with their axes mutually perpendicular and energized by sinusoidal current with a 90° phase shift between sources so that the resultant magnetic and electric fields appear to rotate in space. Produces elliptically polarized waves.
