{{#category_index:Q|quasi-static}} Varying very slowly, so that a solution that assumes constant values is an adequate approximation. In quasi-static electromagnetic problems, displacement currents are neglected. A quasi-static electromagnetic solution becomes poor where the loss tangent becomes less than 1, such as very resistive situations (on glaciers or deserts in the absence of groundwater) where displacement currents dominate over conduction currents.
