The result of adding to or subtracting from a phase measurement. In the time domain, a phase shift of [math] \phi [/math] is equivalent to a time shift of [math] \frac {\phi}{2 \pi f}[/math], where f=frequency of the respective component being shifted. Phase shifts result in change of waveshape unless all components are shifted proportional to their frequencies.
