{{#category_index:M|Matching pursuit}} Matching pursuit is a signal analysis technique which decomposes the seismic trace (or any other signal) into a linear expansion of waveforms (atoms) that are selected from a large and redundant dictionary of functions [1] [2]. Such atoms try to properly reveal the intrinsic properties of the signal.
