{{#category_index:I|interlocking}} 1. Involving energy that has traversed the same raypath, usually in opposite directions. Two seismic records are interlocking if some geophone group of the one record occupies the source location of the interlocking record, and vice-versa. Reflection events on interlocking traces should have the same arrival time. 2. Interdependent controlling of several units whose functions have to be coordinated for proper (or safe) operation.
