Thermal enhanced-recovery methods (q.v.) include steam stimulation (huff and puff), steam flooding, and in-situ combustion. Miscible recovery methods (q.v.) include injection of hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Chemically enhanced recovery (q.v.) includes flooding with polymers, surfactants, and alkaline fluids.
