An electromagnetic surveying method in which the dip angle of the total magnetic field is measured. The secondary field resulting from eddy currents in a conducting body changes the direction of the total field (horizontal in the case of a vertical transmitter loop) which would be measured in the absence of the conductor. See Keller and Frischknecht (1966).
