1. The direction at right angles to the direction in which the data were acquired. 2. Generally the direction parallel to that of the source lines in 3D surveys, where receiver lines are perpendicular to source lines, the direction of the receiver lines. 3. A vertical section extracted from a 3D data volume in the crossline direction. 4. A cross-spread (q.v.).
