{{#category_index:C|chlorine log}} A log based on the counting rate of gamma rays produced by capture of thermal neutrons by chlorine in the formation. By limiting the count to a certain energy range, the tool is made more sensitive to chlorine and relatively insensitive to formation porosity. The main replacement for the chlorine log has been the neutron-lifetime log and thermal-decay-time log.
