1. The point in a material body through which the gravitational attraction acts regardless of the orientation of the body. The point about which all weight moments cancel. The moment of a point mass is the product of the mass and its distance from the rotation point being considered. 2. Used for other types of data, e.g., the distribution of CMP points within a seismic bin.
