{{#category_index:B|backscatter}} A random sequence that is supposed to account for scattering effects. It is used in reflectivity models for deconvolution. One reflectivity model assumes a (non-Gaussian) Bernoulli-Gaussian sequence (q.v.) plus white Gaussian backscatter.
