{{#category_index:A|air shooting}} A method of generating seismic energy by detonating explosive charges in the air. Charges are usually placed on poles about a meter long so that the explosive shock wavefront is distributed over a larger portion of the ground surface than if the charge were laid directly on the surface, although the latter procedure is also called air shooting. See Poulter (1950).
