The reluctance (or moving armature) geophone where the mechanical movement produces a change in the reluctance of a magnetic circuit and hence the flux through a coil. Reluctance Electromagnetic Seismographs have been developed most extensively for reflection shooting. Two balanced armature types. They are very efficient, well adapted to intermediate and high natural frequencies, and may be used for both refraction and reflection work.
