The Esperson dome field is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Houston, and lies principally in Liberty County with a small portion extending into Harris County. Its discovery was a direct result of torsion balance work done in 1928, by the Union Exploration Company, under the supervision of Christian Iden. [1]
