Biography

Chiou-Fen Shieh received his B.S. in earth science from National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan in 1978. In 1988 he obtained a Ph.D. degree in geophysics from Saint Louis University. He is currently associated with the Dept. of Math and Physics of the Taipei Teachers College. Current interests include seismic data processing, focusing on signal decomposition, migration, and deconvolution.[1]

Award

C. F. Shieh and R. B. Herrmann received 1990 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Ground-roll: Rejection using polarized filters.[2]
