Biography 1991
Bruce P. Marion received the M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Texas A&M in 1974 and the engineer's degree from Stanford University in 1976 also in electrical engineering, with emphasis in signal processing. After years of engineering in signal processing applications, he was founder of Tomex Corp. which was founded to develop the drill bit as a downhole source. Since Tomex was acquired by Western Atlas, he has been manager of advanced development for the Downhole Seismic Services division.[1]
Honorable Mention (Geophysics) 1991
J. W. Rector III and B. P. Marion received 1991 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper The use of drill-bit energy as a downhole seismic source.[2]
